November is my birth-month, which means I’m full-throttle for the whole month. Scorpio season is my prime time of the year. That being said, it makes putting together outfits all the more fun. I enjoy dressing for fall more than any other season, so I usually make more of an investment in this season’s wardrobe. Though last year we had a tough winter, so an investment in cold-weather clothes proved to be #worthit.
I posted a few things I loved early in the season, and am still wearing those quite frequently. Here are more pieces that are easily weaving into my fall wardrobe.
The teddy coat (#1) is one item I’m most excited about. I’ve been looking around for one but just couldn’t find the right color or price. I stumbled across this one at Nordstrom Rack and knew immediately it was going home with me. It’s great quality and I sized up to a Medium for easy layering (as seen to the right). I have it paired here with the Western Sock Booties from Target in the October edition of this post.
It’s so funky and fun. It serves its purpose of keeping me warm too! Sam says I look like Macklemore, and that’s a high compliment. SO many people have asked about this coat, so if you can’t find this one just Google “teddy coat” for others that are similar. H&M and Abercrombie & Fitch had some that were longer hem lines but pretty similar.
I can’t decide how much I like the over-the-knee boot look. Sometimes I LOVE the way it looks and other times, I’m just not that keen on it. But, I like the look of them when paired with a dress or skirt. Since these aren’t something I was dying to have, I chose to go with the more affordable pair (#2). I heard good things about the Target brand and decided to give them a try since they were $40 instead of other that I’ve seen for $170. I also have skinny legs which don’t bode well for this look (most end up slipping down). These did a pretty good job of staying up even without wearing pants/leggings since they have a tie on the back. I went back and forth on which color to get, but ultimately ended up with black. I’m still deciding if I like the look enough to invest in a better pair. If you’re on the fence, or looking for a cheaper option, these are a good buy.
I stumbled upon this oh-so-cozy knit sweater (#6) at H&M. I linked it, but they’re almost all sold out. I’m SO glad I decided to buy it, not only because it’s one of my favorite colors to wear, but also because I would have been really bummed to see it sold out online. This is one of my favorite sweaters I own now, plus it was a steal for $24.99!
Here I have it paired with a messy up-do (with a fresh cut & color by Kelley Sharpe in Roanoke, VA aka. The best color artist I’ve ever known) and a pair of the resin hoops from Anthropologie (#5). Together they completed a perfectly curated November lewk.
The Madewell sweater (#4) and knit blazer (#3) are great staples to add to your wardrobe. The sweater warrants itself to be worn alone, or layered. I’m wearing another pair of the resin hoops here (the tortoise ones are what sold me.) It’s probably the softest sweater I own, and it’s not even cashmere. However, caution: it is hand-wash only *gasp.* So, stay tuned for how that goes. The knit blazer polishes off even the most casual fit. Because both of these are fairly light layers, they can easily transition to spring, too.
This season has been a season full of turtlenecks. I just love how cozy they are and since I’m not a necklace person, it feels more natural to accessorize. My fall palette has consisted of: beige, black, cognac, olive and mustard. I think I love fall because I was born in November, so of course, all of the fall trends are my favorite. More bright colors are finding their way to fall, so I’m intrigued to see what December holds! I’m thinking red…
