Acquired Taste Blog: Weekly Specials 8/22
Intro: Starting this week, I intend to post a weekly blog dedicated to the “specials.” Like all fine establishments, there’s usually a seasonal or weekly special that deserves its own separate menu. Think of this blog as a limited menu with a lot to offer.
What: The best of the week. It could be a haul from the weekend or various ways I styled a classic piece. Whatever it may be, this weekly post intends to offer something *special.*
Why: I often receive inquiries about some of my favorite pieces, whether they be new or old. Instead of having to keep track of Instagram messages and links, I thought it might be easier for everyone to just have everything in one place each week.
When: Hitting the blog every Thursday.

Brand: Abercombie
Price: $$*
Ingredients: The fabric is a thicker-quality material but breathable. The particular one I own is not water resistant, I wouldn’t recommend doubling as a rain coat. I love the panel details on the front and back for a more textured look.
Description: I’m a sucker for a classic. A classic trench is a timeless piece that makes any casual outfit a bit more polished. It’s also the perfect way to brighten a likely gloomy day. I had been in search of the right trench coat, but with fundamental pieces such as this one I’m less likely to purchase online. I found this in store for 60% off the original price and took it as a sign.
Pair with: For a more polished look, pair this with a structured pant or dark denim and blouse. To dress up a casual fit, throw it over a tee and distressed denim. A versatile piece, it dresses up a sneaker as well as complements a heel or flat.
*With classic items that serve as a wardrobe staple, I am willing to spend a little bit more money. These items are typically timeless, proving their value for years to come.
Tip: I scored this for 60% off in store! It’s still on sale online - shop the link on my LIKEtoKNOW.it page.

Printed Scarves
Brands (featured): Abercrombie, Target, Loft
Price: Varies, typically $
Ingredients: Another thing that I’m excited about to take into Fall are printed scarves. I tend to collect them all year round, but found a particularly classic one this week at Target. In addition to polishing off a business look, a printed silk scarf can add flare to any casual or simple outfit.
Pictured Right to Left: Boutique floral silk hanker-chief, Abercrombie silk scarf, Loft Outlet mini scarf and Target silk scarf.
Description: Sometimes it seems silly to pay more than $20 for something as little as a scarf. I like to collect various prints and colors so that I have more options and can pair them with many different pieces. If you can pair it with more outfits or in various seasons, you’ll definitely find the value in your accessory.
Tip: Wear them around your neck, tie them to a handbag or fold for a headband to wear your scarf in a variety of ways!
